Introduced to painting by his father, who was also an artist, he developed an interest in both naturalistic and impressionistic styles of painting. In 1981 he received his di-ploma from the "Liceo Artistico" of Rome, and he also attended courses in painting at the St. James School of Ornamental Arts of Rome. He is, however, largely self-taught in watercolour, having assimilated the ideas and techniques of such masters as J. M. Turner, Roesler Franz, and the watercolorists who specialized in views of the Roman countryside. He is a member of the National Association of Italian Watercolorists. He also belongs to the Artistic and Cultural Group "Lorenzo Viani" in Ostia, and the group of painters who are part of the Galleria "Il Triangolo Verde" in Rome. He has exhibited his work in Rome and its surrounding towns. In addition, he has shown his work in numerous collective and individual exhibitions both in Italy, at Badkönigsho-fam in Germany and abroad, among them the International Salon of Watercolour at Tregastel in Brittany, and at the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Paris. He has re-ceived numerous recognitions, prizes and awards for his work, as well as mention in numerous newspaper articles.
